PROMINENT DISCLOSURE: This application collects and uses sensitive user data (including Name, Class, Camera, and Device Identifiers) strictly for school administrative and educational purposes. We do NOT use this data for behavioral advertising or any commercial profiling.
1. Compliance with Families Policy & COPPA
Our Service is designed for institutional use within Neo Convent School and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families Policy:
- Institutional Consent: We collect and process data for students under 13 based on the consent provided by the school administration, acting on behalf of parents for educational purposes.
- Data Minimization: We only collect the minimum amount of personal information necessary for academic tracking and school communications.
- No Behavioral Advertising: This app contains NO ads. We strictly prohibit the use of student data for targeted or behavioral advertising.
2. Sensitive Data Collection & Justification
In accordance with the Google Play User Data Policy, we provide a clear justification for every sensitive permission requested:
- Camera Access: Used ONLY when a user explicitly chooses to take a profile photo or capture an image of their physical workbook to share with a teacher through the chat module.
- Photo Library / Storage: Used strictly to allow users to download academic circulars or upload their digital notebook pages and assignments.
- Device Identifiers (FCM Tokens): Used to deliver critical real-time notifications such as student attendance alerts and exam results.
- Personal Identity: Full Name, Student ID, and Class are collected to personalize the academic portal and ensure data security.
3. Data Sharing & Third-Party Disclosure
We do not sell or share your data for marketing. We use the following essential services for app functionality:
- Google Firebase: Used for secure cloud messaging and push notifications.
- Pusher/Soketi: Used for real-time synchronization of the digital notebook whiteboard.
- Nepcha Analytics: Used for anonymous, non-identifiable app performance monitoring.
4. Data Retention & Security
Security: All user data is transmitted over secure TLS (Transport Layer Security) and stored in private, authenticated database environments.
Retention: Personal record are retained for the duration of the student's enrollment. Upon leaving the school, data is archived or deleted according to the school’s record maintenance schedule.
